MANUFACTURING QUALITY INFORMATION SUPPORTING CONCURRENT DESIGN DECISIONS

Abstract : At the view of using manufacturing quality information (MQI) actively, this paper proposes one product design problem solving process based on MQI. To use MQI, one framework of MQI-based design decisions support system (DDSS) is outlined and six procedures of building this system are explained. The flow of MQI is sketched, and the content of MQI is analyzed which is divided into three categories such as inspection quality information, control quality information and management quality information. A requirement analysis of product design decisions for MQI is proposed by a matrix. Finally the acquisition and representation of MQI is discussed.
