Multi-Constellation GNSS based on next generation RAIM

Résumé

Advanced Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring has been extensively study for the provision of LPV 200 capability worldwide. An Integrity Support Message providing information from a ground monitoring has been defined to meet LPV 200 requirements. The level of performance required as is usually relaxed in a horizontal position navigation framework due to safety assessment of horizontal only application compare to operation with vertical guidance. There is an interest to investigate how ARAIM can meet horizontal navigation and surveillance needs of civil aviation. A Horizontal ARAIM (H-ARAIM) mechanism could be target as a first step of new RAIM technics implementation in future dual frequency multiple constellation equipment. This paper proposes different operational scenarios that allow to better characterisation of ARAIM performance to meet RNP 0.1 requirements as well as current ADS-B mandates. The promising results are used to initiate practical implementation analysis and trade off discussion about the ARAIM architecture for H-ARAIM development in a civil aviation receiver.
