Abstract : The purpose of this paper is to describe a robust environmental evaluation of industrial systems, to help SMEs within their decision making for environmental strategies. The aim is to measure the environmental performance of industrial system based on eco-efficiency concepts within a multi-criteria approach. The environmental evaluation concerns material and energy flows, according to a procedure derived from the well known dependability tool Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA). An application to a mechanical industrial process is performed to prove the efficiency of our ecological criticality indicator.
