The invention relates to a system and method for identifying a photographic camera model from a photograph taking the form of an optionally TIFF-compressed image and fulfilling a relationship between the expectation and the variance of the pixels of the image. This relationship is dependent, inter alia, on two parameters, "c" and "d", and these two parameters determine a fingerprint characterising the camera model. The system comprises an image processing device that can process the photograph in order to estimate parameters "c" and "d". The system also comprises a device for carrying out statistical hypothesis tests on the distribution of the pixels of the photograph and a statistical analysis device for determining if the photograph was taken by the camera model by comparing the "c" and "d" parameters obtained from the photograph and the known "c" and "d" parameters of the camera model. The invention further relates to the use of the method and to the application thereof.
L'invention concerne un système et un procédé pour identifier un modèle d'appareil photographique à partir d'une photographie sous la forme d'une image compressée ou non compressée au format TIFF et répondant à une relation entre l'espérance et la variance des pixels de l'image. La relation est, en autre, dépendante de 2 paramètres 'c' et 'd' et ces 2 paramètres déterminent une empreinte digitale caractérisant ledit modèle d'appareil photographique; le système comprend un dispositif de traitement d'images apte à traiter ladite photographie pour estimer les paramètres 'c' et 'd'.
