Scoring probability forecasting for planning the activities of supply networks
Abstract
The dissemination of information and communication technologies for supporting the conduct of business operations is turning supply chain organisations into supply networks. Planning the collaborative activities of all the stakeholders involved in supply networks under the constraints of quality, cost and time is a key issue. After having described the architecture of supply networks by contrasting it with the supply chain case the main features for forecasting and planning their activities are explained. A technique called probability forecasting is presented as a qualified collaborative tool to plan the activities of supply networks. It bears on the assessments of forecasts as probability rating.
