Aided navigation for disabled people by re-use of experiments

Abstract : This paper deals with dynamic situations processing issue. We focus here on the CaseBased Reasoning (CBR). We present the use of this paradigm in the field of assistance to people with disabilities. The objective is to discharge the user from the constraints of a wheelchair control by assisting him in the reproduction of the routes frequently employed. The proposed approach is based on two important steps. The first one consists in recognizing a route followed by the wheelchair based on a similarity measure with each one already carried out. In the second, an algorithm of the new routes learning is proposed so that they are used in the future recognitions. A strategy of case memory maintenance is proposed allowing the improvement of the system performances
