A new semi-quantitative scratch-test method to assess the adhesion of gold nanoparticles on glass for ultrasensitive chemical and biochemical sensors

Abstract : Ultrasensitive chemical and biochemical sensors are based on nanostructured gold surfaces on glass with good surface-enhanced Raman scattering measurement properties and enough good adhesion properties between gold and glass. In this paper, the scratch test is used in a new way to assess the critical load which takes off dashed gold lines on a glass substrate with different adhesion layers.
