Numerical Simulation of Ductile Damage in Metal Forming Processes. A Simple Predictive Model. 1. Theoretical and Numerical Aspects

Résumé

This article deals with the implementation, in the industrial FE codes Forge2® and Forge3® , of a simple predictive ductile damage model fully coupled with simple PrandtlReuss isotropic elastoplastic constitutive equations. In this first part of the work, only the theoretical and the numerical aspects are developed. Starting from the Prandtl-Reuss elasto(visco)plastic model available in these codes, a simple isotropic ductile model is introduced with a "strong" or "weak" coupling. Details of the damage model and its effect in the thermoelastic and (visco)plastic behaviour are presented. The associated numerical aspects are obtained with connection to the used codes. Applications will be presented in the second part.
