Numerical Simulation of Ductile Damage in Metal Forming Processes. A Simple Predictive Model 2. Some applications

Résumé

This part 2 deals with the application of the coupled elastoplastic model developed in part 1 and implemented in the industrial FE codes Forge2® and Forge3® . This gives a very useful numerical tool to predict the ductile damage during metal forming processes. Some simple and industrial 2D and 3D metal forming processes are simulated in order to predict the ductile damage occurrence during the deformation process. These examples show the capability of the proposed methodology to improve virtually any metal forming processes in order to avoid or enhance the damage occurrence during the process achievement.
